Compared to previous years the changes and additions are as follows:
- The points penalties for various rule breaches will be slightly modified.
- Some of the mandatory checkpoints must be visited during specific time windows.
- There will be a progressive points penalty when riding more than 850 km. Whenever bonus locations are added to your route, the points penalty to get there must be part of the calculation.

We are happy to announce that the 2009 Norwegian Camel Rally will start on Saturday, August 1! The information on this website will be updated somewhat closer to springtime, but rules etc. will be closely similiar to the 2006 rally. Please use the contact and entry forms for questions and entry registrations. NO ENTRY FEE for entrants living outside Norway, Sweden, and Denmark.

Congratulations to this year's (2006) winner ESPEN LOTHE! The dust settles, the award ceremony and the barbecue is over. Sunday 09:30:
All have finished safely! A lost rally flag, a flat tire, and several route changes - everything normal in other words. Now the entrants are getting som rest, while the bonus totals are being calculated for the awards ceremony this afternoon.

Saturday 21:10:
Halfway through! No serious problems or mishaps so far.

Saturday 16:00:
Only one simple question from one of the riders - nothing else has been heard. That's a good sign. They're in for a hot ride - the temperature is now 25-27 degrees in large parts of southern Norway.

Perfect weather with 18-19 degrees. All entrants is on site. Drivers licenses is put in sealed envelopes - and opened envelope at finish may lead to disqualification! A small supplemental bonus list came as a surprise for the riders. Could this be incorporated in the already well-planned route? Bikes and equipment checked - we're all set!

Friday 2006-08-04 18:00-20:00: Rally meeting
All eight entrants and rally master Per Jensen met at the rally base for registration and general info, but most importantly to receive the until now secret bonus list. In addition everyone had to do a 30 km test ride to check the exactness of the odometers. By the end of the meeting all had their minds set on the bonus locations and route planning.

We are having some difficulties with our communication with the Iron Butt Association (IBA). As a consequence Camel Riders Mcc will not be handling the IBA certification applications this year, but we will give all needed assistance with the preparations and the paperwork.
